Full, Blue Moon July 2024

21st July 2024

Structure and possibility are some of the themes occurring with the full moon in Capricorn on  21st July at 11.17am (UK, BST).  This is the second full moon this month in the sign of Capricorn - a rare event referred to as a blue moon.

Power struggles are emerging on many levels and the energy around this full moon could be seen as the final catalyst for big changes over the coming years.

This full moon also brings a sense of completion. It symbolically feels like the last stretch of a long race where we are feeling exhausted and are struggling to find the energy to continue.  If we have been repeating patterns over the last 15 years, we are now given an opportunity to rid ourselves of deeply entrenched behaviours.  The support of Pluto indicates transformation, offering us a chance to manifest something we have been building towards.

We can experience intense, viviid dreams at this time and should pay close attention to the feelings that arise. They may be prophetic and can give us clues as to what we need to work on.  With the sun in Cancer, themes may be around our security.  This can be interpreted literally as our property or home, but it may be that we are building a new structure for our lives.

(The blue moon brought to mind the colourful painting by British artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham.  The circles and lines seem to represent the moon phases and the changing energies throughout the cycle.)
