New Moon in Cancer

A new moon is an invitation from the cosmos for introspection and reflection.  At this time, the energy is supporting us to reflect on an area of our life that is not receiving enough attention, and we often feel the need to retreat and turn inward. 

With a new moon in Cancer, themes that emerge are usually around our security.  How safe and secure do we feel in ourselves, in our environment and in our abilities? Issues around our home life and families can also come into awareness.  We could find that we feel emotionally unsettled, but if we take the time to digest how we feel, we can find resolution to our feelings.

The phases of the moon impact the water here on Earth. As humans, we largely consist of water, and the moon can therefore have a profound impact on our physical bodies but also our energetic bodies. The Astrological sign of Cancer is characterised as a water element, so with a new moon occurring here, there is an opportunity to bring our emotions to the surface rather than burying them in our subconscious.  

Whatever we hid from ourselves at the time of the full moon in January may be resurfacing in our psyche now.  Conversely what is hidden at this time will come to light at the corresponding full moon in six months time.

The current cosmic energies may be creating some disillusionment and confusion.  There is a sense of detachment from reality as we struggle to find direction.  As we move through the next few weeks we may want to watch that this isn’t expressed as anger and frustration.  Rather, we would be better to go with the flow and allow the cosmic tides to take us in the right direction.
