Spring Equinox 2025

This year, the Spring Equinox takes place on March 20th.  This is the point in the year when daylight and darkness are of equal length.  It is astrologically significant as it marks the ingress of the sun into the sign of Aries, which is the start of the astrological new year associated with birth and new beginnings. 

It also marks the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, where we experience growth and renewal in nature.  The energy is fresh, forceful, and initiatory, signalling the ideal time for us to focus on our own renewal - both physical and energetic.  Just as we plant seeds in the ground we are also invited to plant new seeds of intention as we can feel more energised, optimistic and able to accomplish our goals. 

This year, the Equinox occurs in an eclipse portal and also during a period where we are experiencing both a Mercury retrograde and Venus retrograde motion.  The energy is focused on our sense of self and we may find that we are reconciling certain aspects of our lives.  It’s an opportunity to consolidate all our experiences and prepare for a new era.

Neptune - associated with the spiritual and metaphysical - is also moving into Aries, the day after the solar eclipse, amplifying the energy of new beginnings.   We can expect profound shifts in our thinking and significant ideological changes.   

Pay attention to what is occurring now as it is likely that what we are experiencing are the seeds of growth and new opportunities.
